Cast iron deep half round guttering is a high capacity version of the standard 112mm half round profile. Designed for larger period properties, public buildings, and churches where the standard half round does not provide enough flow capacity. The deeper channel carries significantly more water while maintaining the traditional half round appearance. Supplied primed and ready for painting.

When to Use Deep Half Round
Choose deep half round over standard 112mm half round when the property has a large roof area that exceeds the capacity of standard half round, steep pitched roofs that generate higher water velocity, multiple roof faces draining into a single gutter run, or is located in a high rainfall area. Common on large detached Victorian houses, country houses, churches, schools, and public buildings.
Other Cast Iron Profiles
112mm Half Round standard profile for most domestic period properties.
Victorian Ogee decorative S shaped profile for period facades.
Is deep half round heavier than standard half round? Yes. The deeper profile means more material and more weight per length. Ensure fascia boards are in excellent condition and use heavy duty fixings.
Does it need painting? Yes. Supplied primed, must be painted before installation and repainted every 3 to 5 years.
Is there a cast aluminium equivalent? Yes. Alumasc Heritage Beaded Deep Run offers a high capacity cast aluminium alternative that never rusts and never needs painting.
Can I use standard half round brackets? No. Deep half round requires specific brackets designed for the deeper profile. Standard half round brackets will not fit.
Can I connect deep half round to standard half round? Not directly on the same run as the profiles are different depths. Use adaptors if you need to transition between the two.
